TAROPAK 2008
For four days, Poznań changed into an international forum for presenting packaging technologies and logistic solutions. The exhibition featured the latest offers of 800 exhibitors and the record number of foreign companies in the history of this event.
TAROPAK is the largest trade show for the packaging and logistic industry in Central and Eastern Europe. The event is well recognised in the sector and associated with opportunities to evaluate market developments and to gain knowledge about modern solutions. The exhibition attracted numerous visitors professionally related to the production of packaging, raw materials and machinery, warehousing and logistic activities. The significance of this year's TAROPAK is underscored by the fact that it was held under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak.
This year's TAROPAK was not only large, but also representative. 800 exhibitors from 31 countries came to Poznań. It is worth emphasising the significant share of foreign exhibitors, who constituted 35% of all businesses present at the show. Additionally, a record number of new market products and services (as many as 250) was presented in Poznań.
Rich offers were accompanied by interesting lectures, meetin
gs with experts and presentations on special areas. Visitors could participate in numerous seminars prepared together with our partners: the Polish Packaging Research and Development Centre, the Polish Chamber of Packaging, the Polish Chamber of Printing, the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and publishers of specialist journals. The events included:
- a conference entitled: "SRP (Shelf Ready Packaging) - a challenge to the market" co-organised by the Polish Chamber of Packaging, the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and MTP;
- a seminar on "The market of biodegradable packaging in Poland" devoted to the assessment of the domestic market of biodegradable packaging and its development factors;
- a discussion forum entitled "Self-adhesive labels - the latest technologies" prepared by the publisher of "Świat DRUKU", a monthly for the printing sector, and MTP;
- a conference organised by Eurologistics Publishing House entitled: "Innovative solutions for logistics" that presented modern strategies and products implemented in logistic companies;
- "EPC / RFID technology for tracking product flow and product origin" - workshops prepared by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing;
- Award Ceremony for the 4th National Packaging Competition PakStar and the 1st National Packaging Design Competition Student PakStar;
- 9th Sztaplar Show, a show that presents technical capacities of the latest models of forklift trucks;
- Innovation for Logistics - a model distribution centre with all logistic processes crucial for its appropriate operations;
- an exhibition of entries to the Art of Packaging 2007 competition organised by Packaging Polska monthly.
Keith Pearson, President of the World Packaging Organisation was the honorary guest at this year's show. He participated in the trade fair opening ceremony, conferences organised by the Polish Chamber of Packaging and presented awards in the National Packaging Competition PakStar.
The International Packaging Technology and Logistics Exhibition TAROPAK was organised simultaneously with POLAGRA - FOOD and POLAGRA - TECH.
